“There we go!” the young woman sang, putting the finishing touches on the sign outside her home. “'The Eeveelution Research Center'. Hopefully now I'll get some adventurous folk to assist me! Right, Eden?” The Eevee at her feet nuzzled her leg affectionately. “Who could possibly resist the opportunity to be a part of the research that leads to the discovery of all the Eeveelutions? One would have to be mad to pass up such an opportunity!” Elena placed her hands on her hips and looked out toward the village, confident that soon a passerby would see her sign. Curiosity would set in, and the passerby would feel compelled to enter her home. Her messy home...
“Oh dear! The research center isn't ready for guests yet! It's still disasterrific in there!” the breeder cried, quickly turning to run inside. “Mizu! Where are you?” she called out after screeching to a halt in the hallway, Eden running right into the back of her legs. “Sorry, sweetheart. Mizu! Can I have you help me wash the floors?” A Vaporeon appeared and obediently sprayed water on the hardwood floors of the hallway as Elena ran in search of a mop. “Can't have a dirty research center now. No one will come to visit if it's a mess!”
Suddenly, a knock was heard at the front door. Mop still in hand, Elena skitted across the wet floor, nearly falling a few times. Finally, she made it to the door and threw it open. “Why hello there! You must be here to help with science!” She looked down at the mop in her hands and threw it aside, embarrassed. “What's that? Who am I? Oh! I'm Elena! Elena Dahlberg! I'm the leading expert in the evolutionary process of Eevee! Well, self-proclaimed expert... but that's beside the point. I've been conducting research on Eevee since my parents' Eevee both evolved into Umbreon and Espeon respectively. Do come in!”
Elena showed the stranger to the living room where a Flareon lay next to the fireplace. “Go on and take a seat, make yourself at home!” she called over her shoulder as she went in search of tea for her guest. “You see, in theory, Eevee should be able to evolve into every type there is, so it is my goal in life to discovery each and every one of them. But, scientific progress is rarely made alone, and that's where you come in! Here, have some tea.
“You seem like the adventuring type. So on your travels, should you come across an item or any other kind of information that could lead to the discovery of a new Eeveelution, bring me the item or information and I might reward you with an Eevee of your very own should the information help my research! See, I not only research them, I breed them as well! Something I learned as a young trainer on my own journeys. If you agree to help me out, I'll lend you an Eevee to travel with on the off-chance that it should evolve on your journey. Should this happen, bring it back, tell me how it happened to the best of your knowledge, and I'll reward you with an Eevee once again. But, only one Eevee per assistant. What do you say? Up for the task?”
