It wasn't often that this certain red-head actually got out of his house and did something. He was usually either at his gym, training in the desert, or at home playing video games or something. Today, however, he got the day off. Randomly, he might add, because it wasn't very often he got a day off. So, instead of sitting around his house, he decided to go off into the jungle. There wasn't any specific reason as to why he had gone into the jungle. Perhaps it was for training, or maybe just to explore, but either way he was there. It was strange for a jungle to be so close to the desert. True, it wasn't really all that close, but it was only a short half an hour flight away on his Staraptor's back. But, then again, Sora was impatient and flew quite fast.
Once he had entered the jungle, Gen knew he wouldn't be able to find his way back out. The trees all looked exactly the same to him, and there was honestly no way he could try and keep to one trail. So, he gave up, and decided that he could always get Sora to help him find his way out. The gym leader had always been used to open skies and nothing really around him, so the jungle made him feel sort of claustrophobic. Gen grumbled as branches hit his face, and stumbled over some roots of a tree that had been sticking out of the ground, falling on his face but thankfully not in any mud. That was enough for him. Making sure to watch his feet this time, Gen made his way further into the jungle, and came across a small clearing. Scratching his head with one hand, Gen frowned angrily. "Why did I even think this was a good idea? So far, all I managed to do was get lost and fall on my face." He complained to himself, and whistled for Sora. The bird Pokemon came fluttering down almost 10 seconds later, and nuzzled Gen. "Hey, Sora. I may need help getting out of this darn forest. You up for helping me out?" He asked, and the Staraptor nodded. Feeling satisfied knowing he wouldn't have to be lost, the Gym Leader sat down on the ground, pulling out some snacks out of his bag. Opening one and giving it to his Pokemon, the red-haired man sat back and relaxed a little bit, closing his eyes. If anyone approached him at this moment, he probably wouldn't even notice them.

Lorelei was strange in more ways than one person along could count on their fingers. While it was arguable that, because no one is perfect that this was true with everyone, it seemed as thought the former Imum leader's negative or peculiar traits stood out a good deal more than many others around her. For one thing, she was very rarely torn in her subconscious or confused by the things around her. However, in the scenario that she was mentally lost, she put herself through the trial of becoming just as physically lost and combating mental and real life problems at the same time. And, while one would figure this would harm more than help, she never needed assistance in finding the right path within the span of five hours and came to a decision long before getting her way out of a maze or labyrinth. It was her only way of solving the few problems that she could not solve with a few minutes' thought.
And it was one of those problems that she had recently been foolish enough to get herself into. You see, recently, she had the misfortune to stumble upon a very familiar face. She was lucky enough to have the other female fail to recognize her for the most part, but it appeared to have dawned on the trainer that she had been beaten once more by the leader of a dangerous criminal organization. While this would have been fine five years ago, the fact that her return to the Lyeant region was widely unknown and better so made her discovery a disaster. One that she'd walked right into knowingly, leaving with chin held high but regret dragging at her heart. The girl seemed shy enough, sure, but she had made it sound like she would do anything to stop Imum's return. This would mean she wouldn't hesitate to call the authorities if she had to. This would also mean that, soon, she'd be on the run again. She'd almost thrown a fit in her office at Besser's main building, in fact, at her own frivolity about the whole situation. The past few nights she'd even lost sleep, anticipating the time when the world would be watching, waiting for her to make herself known so they could wrap a noose around her neck and hang her without a word.
So she ordered Dunkle to fly her at a safe height and drop her at a random point in the jungle.
Roughly an hour had passed since then and, if it was possible, the Besser admin was more lost than she was to begin with. Worse, a tiny part of her was beginning to panic, and that simply would not do. She'd refused the assistance of aerial help, knowing that it wouldn't help her solve her mental struggles one bit, but she had at some point summoned Vulcan, her Arcanine to burn down any trees or brush that was too thick to pass through. If the situation grew too challenging and she ran out of steam, he could also make quite the good steed. And so she pressed on, pushing low hanging branches away and growling whenever they snapped back and cut her face. The whines of pity that came from the fire-type's mouth each time an injury was inflicted upon her was rather annoying, yes, but the guilt that welled up when she noticed similar scratches much more numerous in numbers on his own face was more prominent than anything else. So they walked. And they walked. And walked some more. And the sun in the sky told her that noon was gone with the afternoon left to pick up its mess in its wake and, if she didn't get started on the right path now, she might be there when nightfall came. Of all the things she knew, as well, one of the most important was not being lost at nightfall. Not only would it kill her pride in having to spend more time doing what could be carried out with half the effort, but it also proved more dangerous.
“Burn it,” she commanded suddenly, startling her traveling companion and earning her a confused looked. What was the canine-like creature burning exactly? They were in a less dense area, after all. Not much of a clearing, but a step up from having to squeeze their way through tightly knit bushes and trees. However, the brunette insisted with more of a growl to it, “I said burn it. Everything. Set it all aflame, I don't care. The more damage we do here now, the less we'll have to do later when we purge the land.” Understanding dawned in the Pokemon's steel-colored eyes and, within seconds, an inferno was reaching up to the skies above. “Good,” she said simply, unaffected by the flames lapping at her fragile frame. “Let's get moving, then, shall we?”
It didn't take much longer after that when the flora around them began to thin even more, leading her to believe they were approaching a small clearing of sorts if this continued much longer. Perhaps they could stop to rest for a moment, if only the catch their breaths and help rejuvenate Vulcan in the instance that she needed him to set fire to something again. It would be an utter shame if he weren't at full health when the order was called and carried out, after all, wouldn't it? However, because she could think much longer on that, a voice up ahead caught her attention, loud enough that she could tell she was close. Funny; had the person – presumably male from the tone – been talking the whole time, she only failing to realize it? No, that would be silly. Obviously, he'd only chosen to speak up now. But to who, exactly...? And who was doing the speaking in the first place? “Why did I even think this was a good idea?” the voice whined and all she could think of was how familiar it was... “So far, all I managed to do was get lost and fall on my face. Hey, Sora. I may need help getting out of this dang forest. You up for helping me out?”
The first thing to come to the brunette's mind was how weak he was, having to rely on someone else in order to get out of the jungle that he was apparently lost in, as well. Vulcan was only here for company, after all, and arson forest fires. There was no way in the Distortion World that she would call out another one of her Pokemon only to use their skills in order to help her find her way out of this natural maze. However, the second thing to dawn on her was that she did, in fact, know this voice. Not personally. Perhaps she'd heard it once in real life. But she'd kept tabs on the region's gym leaders and elite four in her sweep across the region, making sure to track all of their movements as to crush any of them before they could pose a major threat to her operations. This was Genkei Takehiro, if she recalled, the flying-type gym leader who lived and challenged trainers in Aria Village.
Perhaps a little too quickly, she burst through the last line of over growth and into the clearing she had correctly assumed to be there. “Stay where you are!” Lorelei commanded, snapping her fingers and watching her Arcanine fire a warning shot of flames just passed his head and into the growth behind him. “No sudden movements or I'll make sure you fry.”

Genkei wasn't usually the one for admitting defeat, but this jungle was making him feel claustrophobic. He was used to Aria Village, which had wide open spaces. It was no wonder he was always uncomfortable in big cities. Handing some Pokemon food to his Staraptor, he watched as Sora gratefully took the food and slowly ate it. She was never the type of Pokemon to gobble down any food she came across. The red-haired male pulled out a snack for himself, and ate it for a few minutes until he began to smell smoke. Now, that was odd. The day wasn't particularly hot, so there was no way a random forest fire would start. Right? Soon enough, he began to hear the crackling and popping sound that could only come from the sound of fire. This was bad. Not only was he lost in here, but all of the jungle's Pokemon were in danger. He had to go back to the village and inform everyone.
Seconds after jumping to his feet, getting ready to hop on Sora and fly back home, a brunette female jumped out of the brush on the other side of the clearing. Seconds after commanding him to stay where he was, she snapped her fingers and an Arcanine jumped out of the brush after the woman and fired a warning shot of fire right past his head, flying into the undergrowth behind Genkei and Sora. The heat had been so close to his face that it felt a little burnt. She warned him not to make any sudden movements, or he would fry. The red-head swallowed nervously and stayed perfectly still, his hands still at his sides. His Staraptor understood the situation as well, yet she stood close to her trainer in case she needed to protect him. Anger crossed the gym leader's face. He didn't dare speak unless she told him to, in fear that she would take that as an excuse to have her Pokemon shoot some fire at his face.
