This was a rather curious place, especially for the pokemon she had heard of that resided here. Flying types in the middle of a desert...she had thought it odd, but upon seeing how high up everything was? The green-haired girl did not think it that odd at all now that she was actually there. More importantly though, how in the world did those poor Eevees live in a climate like this? Sure they were high up, but unlike the flying types, they didn't have the benefit of being able to fly around and let the wind cool them off a lot.
Then again, perhaps she was getting worked up over nothing. After all, she was faring just fine, wasn't she? Sure, she didn't have as much fur as them, but she was probably overestimating how hot it truly was. Well, whatever. "You think this might be a scam, Lissi?" Erin asked of the flower pokemon perched on her shoulder. She would be walking, but it had been a bit of a journey to get here, and the small pokemon was tired. Which was understandable, really. Grass and flowers tended to lap up sunlight a lot more than anything else, so why wouldn't that apply to grass and flower pokemon? Of course, she only answered in the voice she could answer in, stating her name, but Erin got her intent. "Yeah yeah...it might be. But hey, if it is? I bet we'll be fine. Besides, Eevees are super interesting~" the green-haired girl stated, a smile on her face as she stopped walking and just stared at the big building in front of her. Well then. THAT certainly looked like a research center to her.
It even seemed to have a sign outside about the Eevees! She had been on one of the nearby routes when some other traveler mentioned this to her, and she just had to check it out. "Helloooooo!?" she called out loudly. That would definitely get...well, the attention of someone. She wasn't sure who though.

The research center was quiet that warm afternoon. A few Eevee lay stretched out on the dining room floor, occasionally stretching out their short, little legs for a moment before turning over into a more comfortable position. Elena sat at the table, head buried in her arms as she slept on a pile of notes she had compiled on her own collection of Eeveelutions. A small pool of drool formed on the last, rather sloppily written, sentence on her notes that read, “Flareon are able to control the amount of heat they give off and Aden maeks a grate heeting pad”. Said Flareon lay in her lap, keeping his owner warm enough to enjoy her nap. Her other Eeveelutions were either sprawled out on the table, or curled up under and around her chair.
She dreamed as she sat there, lazing about when she should have been working. Then again, what work needed to be done? Just sit and wait around for the next person to drop by was really all she could do. Her job was relatively easy. Travel the world, set up a situation, cross your fingers, and pray that the Eevee evolves. That or sit at home and recruit trainers and other people to do all of that for her. She dreamed of traveling the world, winning some sort of prize as she showed off her complete collection of Eeveelutions.
But suddenly, the Eeveelutions went berserk in her dream and began to attack everyone present at her award ceremony. Just as she was about to be stung by the Pokemon she had dubbed “Cicadeon”, she heard a loud “Hellooooo!?” coming from her front door. Elena jolted upright and swiped a hand across her face to remove the drool that had formed in the corner of her mouth. “Someone here to see me?” she asked no one in particular groggily. She made her way to the front door, opened it, and tried her best to smile without looking like she had just woken up from a nap.
“Good afternoon, traveler!” the researcher greeted sleepily. “My name is Elena Dahlberg, and I am the leading expert in all things Eevee. Welcome to my Eeveelution Research Center, is there any way that I can help you?” She had gone through ways of sounding more professional. Having now discovered a new Eeveelution, she had far more credibility and needed to be as professional as others expected her to be. Elena had worked on that little introduction just the night before, and she had to admit, she was rather pleased with her work.
((OOC: Coming up with new things for Elena to be doing when people stop by is getting difficult, so we'll go with she's sleeping on the job. And yeah, her notes are supposed to be spelled wrong. X3))

It sure was taking a while for whoever was in there to respond, now wasn't it? So long, in fact, that Erin was tempted to just turn around and walk right away. It wouldn't really bug her too much, but then again..she really wanted an Eevee. They seemed super cool, even from a legendary's perspective. She didn't want to have to leave empty handed and, besides that, she just wanted to have some fun. If that meant waiting a little bit to converse with a person? Well, so be it then! In the meantime, she hummed a little to keep both herself and her pokemon from getting too bored as they waited. One would think a professor would be more quick to answer a door, but apparently not. Of course, the gijinka did not blame this professor too much.
After all, all of them had to be rather busy people, what with all the research that they did. It wasn't her place to wonder why they weren't answering their days right away. She'd trust that they were up to some very important business and that she should just try to wait a little while longer. As it turned out, that was exactly the right plan! It wasn't long before a woman showed up and opened the door, causing Erin to immediately stop humming and pay attention to the words she was given by the woman. She certainly seemed to have a dignified speech prepared, it was quite impressive. Especially considering how late she was in responding, and...no no no, she had told herself she wouldn't be judgmental about that! Scolding herself a bit more, the green-haired girl offered the professor a smile, which her Bellossom would have given as well were she not as sleep as the professor was herself.
"I'm Erin, Erin Lyon. And this here is Lissi. I was nearby and heard about this place and I just had to visit! I mean, Eevees are super awesome and I figured it couldn't hurt to check the place out." she explained with a bright smile on her face. Of course, her true intent here was to make sure that she got an Eevee, but, well, if she just came right out and said that, what were the odds of her just being handed one and walking off? Not really high, truly, which was why she'd keep that fact to herself for now. She didn't want to appear too greedy, and besides, she really was there out of curiosity, just...her desire for an Eevee was driving her a lot more at the moment.
((Apologies for the presumably late-ish reply, but there was no way for me to know you edited. ^^))

Elena took the girl's hand and shook it, now very awake thanks to Erin's interest. “It's a pleasure to meet you! Here at the Eeveelution Research Center, we strive to discover everything about Eevee and its evolutionary processes! Since the discovery of the flying Eeveelution, Breezeon,” she pointed to Eden as she spoke, “I have made it my mission to discover Eeveelutions for all the other types out there! But of course, I am but one person. And this is where you come in! Give me just one moment, won't you?”
The researcher bolted upstairs to grab her clipboard. Removing the drool soaked pages of notes on her current Eeveelutions, she returned to the front door. She spotted a tiny spot of drool that must have soaked through the notes and onto the paperwork and prayed that Erin wouldn't notice. She continued her explanation, “Allow me to explain. I just need your information so that I can keep track of any information you come across that may aid in the evolutionary process of Eevee. I ask you to take one of my Eevee with you on your travels, and you try to discover a way to make it evolve. Myself and a few others are also working like this. If you find anything out, you just return to the research center, tell me what you have discovered, and continue on your journey! If your Eevee is able to evolve into a new Eeveelution, bring it back to the research center and I will supply you with your very own Eevee to love and evolve as you see fit.”
She handed the girl the clipboard and watched her expression. “If you are confused about exactly where to start, I would find a place tied to whichever type you are hoping to discover. Part of it might be them wanting to be part of that type, or it might be an item. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure.” She scratched the back of her head nervously.
“You see, I was falling to my death at Angel Heights when my Eden evolved. She was in an area related to flying types and had a will to fly. That's all I know about the new Eeveelutions, I'm sorry I don't know more. But I guess that's what your here for! To help learn more! That is, if you were wanting to help in my research.” Elena crossed her fingers, hoping Erin would say yes.
((You're fine, don't worry. X3))

Erin stared at the door once the professor had darted off momentarily, just a little surprised. She showed so much energy, and she had just taken her hand and shook it without permission, and and...and she was totally awesome. Erin felt like she was going to get along with this woman a lot, especially if she kept the energy up. She herself could get rather energetic at times, so she could appreciate others that were like that as well, to say the least. How the professor just managed to find so much energy when she didn't seem to have it upon opening the door was a complete mystery to her, however. Ooh...what if she was like, an energy farm? That was an interesting thought!
And it'd make sense too. All the stuff she had said seemed to be prepared and memorized and all of that other jazz. A farm was able to keep things in a nourish them, so of course it'd be able to keep things you needed to memorize in as well. It didn't make too much sense to an outsider, perhaps, but to her it did, so she waited with glee for this woman to come back and...well, she wasn't sure what she had gone to grab, but no doubt she'd see. Ooh, she was back, and again she was spouting off a lot of words that, for most, would be difficult to keep up with, but not Erin.
In fact, the energy she was showing was enough for Erin to tap one of her feet a little as the professor of Eevees went on. "Soooo basically you just want me to go out and find a way to evolve an Eevee, a new and different way I mean, then come back here and I get my own Eevee?" she asked, still smiling despite the frown she wanted to show. After all...if she was going to take an Eevee around and get it evolved, wouldn't that mean it'd grow attached to her? In that case it'd be somewhat cruel to just tear it away, now wouldn't it? There had to be a method to the madness of this professor though, and...she actually frowned this time as her eyes spotted something on the clipboard.
Or rather, not the clipboard, but the paperwork. Drool. Stifling a giggle, she was soon smiling again and gave a great big nod to the woman. "Alright! Sounds pretty dang cool to me." she said with enthusiasm.
